New Scrap

Sat Sep 26, 2009, 10:53 PM
Check out my scrapbook. The last entry/submission is a snapshot of what I've been working on for the last few months. It's still mostly underpainting. I'm planning to paint over all that is red or black/grey. There will probably be a lane at the top, flanked by pink bushes. I'd love to hear suggestions on colors for the trees, ruins, and the lane. It is loosely based on two paintings, one by Andre Derain and another by a California woman named Trice Tolle. This is my most planned-out piece, so I'm taking my time with it. Plus with school, sending off applications to UT in Austin and UW in Seattle, and looking for work... I haven't been able to paint as much as I'd like. So please check out the scrap "Candy Wood, Unfinished" and let me know what you think. There is a bit of a flash glare, but I think you should still be able to see it well enough to make suggestions.

Also, I finally got around to taking pictures of some old paintings I did on cardboard in 2006 when I was living with roll freaks and getting drunk, stoned, et cetera, practically perpetually. They are completely abstract expressionist; Untitled 5 I think is probably my first half-way decent painting. Untitled 6 is a new 4ft by 2ft piece I'm making using mostly excess paint from other paintings as well as basically all other supplies I have available. I need much better photos, sorry, haha.

Thanks a ton,
Ian

hey thanks for the attention,

Here in Sacramento th epost offices and customer service counters in super markets typically have piles of stickers just laying there for the taking because you pay for the sticker with your post stamps..

I'm not sure if thats how it is everywhere, considering I have only very rarely seen "rolls" of the Priority Mail Adhesives.
:icondludedbygrandeur:
no prob, you're probably my favorite sticker artist on dA...

yeah, you can usually get stickers from the post offices for free in big handfuls, the 1s with the red & blue all over them, anyway. my sister is in seattle now, & is supposed to be bringing me roll of the UPS kind... so we'll see, haha.
:iconweretheman:
thank you that means a lot to me considering the caliber of some of the sticker artist s on this site. If you live in CA you should try and make it to Sacramento where I'm showing a bunch of pieces, including some large things which are to large to post.
